Education the Solution
My name is Grahame Rees, I teach the KLR Livestock Marketing school, where we teach and mentor livestock producers to better manage Grass,Money and Livestock.
I have recently spent 3 weeks in the USA with a group looking at regenerative farming, very very insightful.
I have been reflecting on how well our graduates are positioned with the current drought, making the best decisions they can in a somewhat challenging time.
I realised how much of an impact we have had when at a recent Mastermind day in Dubbo, a client who I have known for 25 years and at times has suffered some axiety at times, was in the best shape I had ever seen him.
I asked why is he feeling so great and he said well we have destocked, we have the money in the bank and our land is in good shape waiting for rain.
He also shared his neighbour came over for dinner the night before with his wife, both were extremely stressed and they shared that they had just spent over

$1 Million feeding stock with no signs of stopping until the drought finished!!
This letter is not about promoting what we do, but rather how important education is to help people change the way they make decisions.
I have never really supported 100% funding for education and think the RAA in NSW 50% funding does a great job, albeit other states provide zero funding for training encourage farmers to seek out
However I would urge you to consider finding ways to encourage farmers to attend one or more of the many training programs out there, which may well be 100% funding for training.
I am not expect you to listen to the audio but it is there, however there are 9 recent video interviews I conducted with graduates of the KLR School from NSW and QLD.
They are less than 2 minutes each and may give you an insight into how important training is.
Regards
